The survey will also look at the elevation of the land and the man made structures to form the Detail Survey. Typically this Survey will be on Australian Height Datum (AHD) meaning all surveyed heights on the Detail Survey are relative across the state using the same height system.
In addition, the contours of the land can simply be mapped out in the Detail Survey plans too, so that you can pick the best part to build and easily understand the natural layout of the land including any slopes or falls across the land.
When we’re contracted to complete a Detail survey, we’ll bring a range of specialist equipment with us to get the job done. This includes total station and GPS where appropriate. Once we’ve obtained the data we require, we’ll create a Detail Survey plan that show what we’ve discovered in a visual format.
Architects and engineers can then use these plans to help plan a new build, or renovation. This requires a competent land surveyor with the right qualifications, registration and experience, which we’ll provide.

For example a simple survey for a pool in the rear yard of a property will require less infomation than a survey for a proposed residential unit block. We’ll help you judge how much use you’ll get from Detail plans dependant upon the proposal.
